Becoming a sponsor

Sponsoring a concert

Enables you to be sure that all the ticket revenue from the concert will go to the charity you, the sponsor, have chosen. Concerts range in cost from £800 for an unaccompanied concert given entirely by the choir, through a range of costs which might include choir and organ and/or soloists, to a full choral and orchestral concert where the cost might be of the order of £6000 (covering the cost of venue, conductor and incidental expenses). The choir has worked with private and commercial sponsors and can give as much or as little profile to the sponsor as required. This would be discussed in advance of the concert, and all publicity materials designed would be submitted for the approval of the sponsor.

Messages from our Patrons

Sarah and I are extremely honoured to have been asked to be joint Patrons of Guildford Chamber Choir. We have thoroughly enjoyed the two recent concerts under the baton of Max Barley. Wonderful singing and music in two such special and beautiful churches, Holy Trinity and St Nicolas, Guildford. You have delighted all of us and we look forward to many inspirational concerts in the future. We are very fortunate to have such a talented choir in Guildford and I know we all appreciate the time you spend in rehearsals producing this beautiful music.

(Mr and Mrs Michael More-Molyneux, Loseley Park)

I was greatly privileged to serve as Principal Conductor of the Guildford Chamber Choir for eleven years. The choir is committed to the highest standards of performance, and to presenting a diverse and innovative repertoire. The significant sum of money raised by the choir for local charities is remarkable, and the achievement of the singers in communicative music-making is immense.

(Professor Steven Grahl, Christ Church Oxford)

I am deeply touched and honoured that the Guildford Chamber Choir has invited me to become an Honorary Patron....The Choir has always meant a great deal to me and was a significant and formative part of my career.

Can it really be 40 years since that first GCC concert?! I was privileged to be accompanying on the organ and well remember the excitement that heralded the launch of a new Choir of such high standard. That it has remained true to its initial distinction and enterprise for all these years is a fitting tribute to its founder, Richard Fox and John Bawden, whose brainchild it was, and to the many high quality singers and musicians who have been associated with it during that time.

(Peter Wright)

Other ways of suporting us - Donations

All donations, large or small, are particularly welcome after the Covid months when we were without income. Donations are always gratefully received as they help defray costs and enable us to put on concerts that we would not necessarily be able to fund ourselves.; £150-£250 would pay for one orchestral player or professional singer; £250-£350 would help towards a professional organist. As above, we can give as much or as little profile to the donor as required.
